The “You’re Not Going To The Prom Or A Gala So You Don’t Need To Bring That” Packing List
I am a minimalist when it comes to packing. I pack to meet TSA standards because really, who wants to be delayed by one wrong item? I have a packing motto that most people laugh at but don’t use. Once they see it, they giggle a bit and then begin packing everything that they might need on vacation. They pull out the largest piece of luggage they own and fill it to the gills with things that they “might” need. I don’t believe in that. I keep it simple.

Should You Use Packing Cubes?
I always tout my love of packing cubes but when my mother was packing for vacation, she caused me to question whether or not packing cubes were all that I made them out to be.
I tested my theory and the verdict is that while I don’t find that you really NEED packing cubes, they do make your suitcase more organized. If this doesn’t matter to you, then I’d say keep doing what you are doing. But, I tend to be a bag lady and have several small pouches inside of purse so that I can easily grab what I need. If you’re like me, then packing cubes will probably work for you.
